Great getaway – reply on Trip Advisor – Jan 2022
I was looking for a cottage rental that was pet-friendly to escape the city. After a google search and reading reviews, Tally Ho Inn was chosen. I was not disappointed! I stayed in Castledown #18 and the view was amazing! The cottage was clean and well equipped. My puppy loved running off-leash in the fenced-in dog park. I was only booked for a 2-day stay but I plan to return for a longer visit later this spring.

We have been there twice already and planning to visit again. This place has been a lifesaver for us during covid. Tally ho-inn has a beautiful lake, and it has been a blast learning paddleboarding. Location is optimum to explore Arrowhead and Algonquin provincial park. Most importantly, pet friendly.

I enjoyed a three night stay in June 2020, staying in one of the Sunset rooms. The attention to cleanliness made me feel very safe. The room had everything I needed: mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee, a picnic table and a couple of Muskoka chairs. This is a quiet and well kept property, with wide sweeping lawns and a beautiful location on Penn Lake.

Quiet, Relaxing Getaway
From my first phone call to book a cabin to my stay, everything was just amazing!
Shari was so kind and helpful in helping me select a cabin and offered an unbeatable rate for the weekend.
The cabin was absolutely gorgeous! It had two HUGE bedrooms with separate baths that had lovely deep, soaker tubs. The beds were very comfortable. There were two oversized armchairs in the living room, set in front of the sliding glass doors that led to a VERY large deck, overlooking the water.
The fireplace in the living room was quite spacious and Tally Ho Inn provided a load of firewood each day, along with a bag of kindling. The wood was very well seasoned and burned beautifully.
The property was beautiful, right on the water, and peaceful. It has a private beach.
It was so quiet and peaceful – perfect for a weekend getaway to restore the Soul.
The cottage was VERY clean and quiet. There was a TV with satellite for those times when you want to veg in front of the TV. There wasn’t a kitchen, however, there was a good-sized mini-fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and mugs.
They enforced physical distancing to ensure everyone’s safety. When I checked in, I entered the foyer of the main building, picked up the envelope with my key and instructions… I only saw the employees from a distance.
I felt very safe and secure and could see clearly that they were taking distancing measures very seriously to protect their guests and employees.
The property is located about 10 mins outside Huntsville, so it was easy to get to the grocery stores and Tim Horton’s.
Overall, I will definitely stay again and I will bring my family along.
Thank you, Shari, and Tally Ho Inn, for helping me find a safe, quiet space to reconnect with nature and give my weary soul respite from the demands of life.

Little damp and lake still frozen in March but would definitely go again in summer months.. Very clean and wood is stockpiled daily for your indoor fireplace. 10 minutes from Huntsville shopping and needs.

Tally-Ho was perfect for us. We wanted an affordable home base to explore the Limberlost Forest. Our one-bedroom unit was ideal…comfy bed, fireplace & jacuzzi tub, beautiful view and amenities that allowed us to self-cater. We believe this is a small business resort snd they are obviously making upgrades as allowed. Contactless check-in during Covid.

Winter Getaway
We stayed for three nights, to provide an escape from the city.
The cabin was clean and well prepared.
Firewood was delivered each day and the walking paths were kept clear.
We made use of the fireplace and the BBQ.
The lake ice was cleared for skating as well.
Pandemic protocols were followed at all times.

We had a lovely time at the Tally Ho. Very rustic and charming and a very pretty spot. We were in the Paradise unit and the only thing I would change would be to put a bigger fridge….at least bar sized. The staff was lovely to deal with and the food truck had great food. We will be back next year for sure.

We would definitely stay here again. Lots of room to ride snowmobiles on the property as well as the lake. It’s a 2 min ride to the OFSC trails. Pet-friendly resort with zero issues. Unfortunately, the games room was closed up due to the COVID 19 virus, I’m sure that would ha e an added touch. See you next time!

Tally Ho is very Good – April 2020
We have stayed in Tally Ho Inn multiple times in all seasons. It has always been memorable. Very good location, excellent cottages, facilities including canoes in the summer. Always friendly staff. Hopefully, it stays that way. We’ll come again.

Covid 19 – May 5, 2020
Thankfully the Tally Ho was accepting reservations during the Covid-19 lockdown, we had to work in Dwight and needed to find accommodations that included a kitchen. The cottage we rented was perfect, brought our own supplies and got our work done with no delays.

First time up north in the winter. Very quiet at the resort. No interaction with staff due to COVID-19. The resort was in good condition but would have liked to have fresh garbage bags daily. It would have been nice to have a place to pick up fresh towels and garbage bags daily for our cabin. Overall a very peaceful and relaxing getaway.

My partner, my dog and I had a lovely time in cabin 18!
We made use of our small kitchen and cooked up a storm. We loved the deepness and comfort of the bathtub. The cabin itself was a comfortable size and we had a parking spot right outside our door.
The view from our cabin window was lovely. I enjoyed walking my dog to the little fenced-in park and then around the little trail and sitting on the dock with her in the peaceful calm of the area. Though the gate to the park is easy to push and my dog figured that out quickly.

My partner and our dog had a remarkable and great stay at Tally Ho…as always. Thank you for being
The facility is working on being better every time we show up. The cabins have been improved and are extremely comfortable. We were close to the lake and one morning at around 7am we looked out our window and saw 3 wolves walking across the lake from the east. Have not seen such a site in the 50 years that I have been coming to the area. WOW!
